Some causes of being over weight

Everywhere you look you can find someone overweight. What has brought us to being this way? Some say it's the fault of many greedy companies like McDonald's and Burger King. Once you are overweight, it's very hard to give up your food obsession and start. In order to prevent it from ever happening (or worsening) you must educate yourself on what causes it. These are the main reasons that people become overweight.

Not Enough SleepNot getting enough sleep is awful and extremely harmful to your body. It's very hard to feel good when you are running on less than eight hours of sleep. Involved in the regulation of metabolism, calorie burning, and your appetite is something called leptin. When you don't get enough sleep, your body doesn't have enough leptin, which will mess up those things. In result? You gain weight. Getting enough sleep is so important for many other reasons as well, so please do everything you can to get at least eight hours every night.

Not Educating Yourself
If you don't know what fifty grams of fat is, how can you expect to stay in shape? You must educate yourself on what calories, grams of fat, sugars, and other things mean. Not just that, but also know what you are eating before you eat it. If you stop in at a local fast food restaurant every morning and order the same three things over and over, but never really know the nutrition info, look it up! Every fast food restaurant has the nutrition information on their website. It's important to know what's in your food.

Not Getting Enough Exercise
This may seem obvious, but it's very true. You don't have to exercise vigorously either. Just try to make sure that you are active at least thirty minutes to an hour every day, whether it's walking around a mall, or biking to the grocery store instead of taking your car. Doing little things will make a big difference.

Overeating
You don't have to give up food indefinitely, no one ever said that. Try to stick to the three main meals, and maybe one light snack somewhere in the day. Eat foods that are good for you and have lots of nutrients in them. Doing simple adjustments to your diet can make a huge change.
Don't let it happen to you, fight it! Being overweight leads to all sorts of health problems, so don't let yourself go through such a thing. If you are already a few pounds heavier than you would like to be, do something about it. Strive to be where you want to be. Life is too short to have to fight your weight.
